Details of the Job/Internship

Sustainability Economics.ai is hiring an Energy Law Expert with experience of 2–5 years to join their office in Bengaluru, Karnataka. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development, review, and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
• Analyse commercial, legal, and financial terms of PPAs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Support project development teams in structuring bankable PPAs for financing and investment purposes.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders including legal, finance, engineering, and risk teams.
• Monitor contract performance, compliance, and key milestones after execution.
• Assess market trends, pricing structures, and regulatory changes affecting PPAs.
• Structure PPA solutions aligned with market and customer requirements.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks related to energy offtake.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Law, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in energy contracts, power markets, renewable project development, or PPAs.
• Experience negotiating and managing PPAs.
• Experience with solar, wind, storage, or hybrid energy projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of power markets, tariff structures, and energy regulations.
• Strong contract negotiation, commercial analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex legal and financial contract terms.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and pricing analysis is preferred.
