NLSIU, along with Ford Foundation, has established the Ford Foundation Chair in Public Interest Law to recognise scholars and teachers in the field of human rights, constitutional law and public law, to produce high-quality research, strengthening pedagogy, engaging in public policy dialogue and attracting world-class researchers and academics to the University.

Details of the Job/Internship

NLSIU is hiring a Ford Foundation Chair in Public Interest Law to join their Bangalore campus.

Role and Responsibilities

• Teach courses across academic programmes.
• Conduct research in human rights, constitutional law, public law, and public interest litigation.
• Lead human rights literacy initiatives.
• Engage in public policy dialogue.

Eligibility

• The candidate must hold a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from a recognised university.
• The candidate must have cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by the UGC or any other accredited agency OR be exempt from NET as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• Candidates awarded a Ph.D. in Law in accordance with the UGC Regulations (conditions specified in Appendix A – Sections I and II.1) are exempt from the NET requirement.
• Foreign Nationals, OCI, NRI, and PIO candidates are eligible to apply, subject to fulfilling Employment Visa/FRRO regulatory requirements.
• Degrees obtained from foreign universities must be recognised as equivalent in India, in accordance with UGC guidelines.

Salary/Stipend

Level 14 as per VII CPC.
