Details of the Job/Internship

Unimoni, India - A Wizz Financial Group is hiring a General Commercial Lawyer in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Candidates must have 5 years of experience.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide general legal support to the group General Counsel with negotiating, drafting, and implementing various commercial agreements with local and foreign banks, financial institutions and vendors related to payments, acquiring, SaaS, technology, compliance solutions, cash processing and other activities concerning FinTech and payments. 
• Negotiate, review and draft strategic partnership agreements concerning various forms of fundraising (debt, equity, mezzanine). 
• Support the group corporate secretarial team with various corporate governance matters, including local and cross-border M&A transactions, corporate restructuring, and various private equity deals. 
• Liaise with external legal counsel across various jurisdictions in connection with the local law matters related to financial services and merger control. 
• Assist the group General Counsel to monitor the group IP strategy, apply to the IP authorities for the group brands registration, and continuously ensure that the group IP rights are adequately protected. 
• Cultivate strong relationships with the group stakeholders, in-house departments, external legal counsel, and regulators. 

Eligibility

• Legal degree from a reputable university with excellent academic results. Additional education / LL.M in Banking & Finance Law / Business Law / Commercial Law would be an advantage. 
• At least 5 years’ of experience working for a multinational corporation either directly or via a legal processing outsourcing firm. 
• Candidates with experience working for UAE companies either in person or remotely would be preferred. 
• Excellent legal drafting skills, strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. ∙ General understanding of a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor and outsourcing agreements, Service-level agreements (SLAs), Loan and credit facility agreements, Investment and joint venture agreements, Technology and fintech partnerships. 
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English is a must. 
• Highly organised, motivated, and self-disciplined, you need to be passionate about law and meticulous in your everyday work. 
• You are a fast-learner and a team-player who is also able to work independently.
