Details of the Job/Internship
Verint is hiring an APAC Associate General Counsel with experience of 10+ years to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide general counsel leadership and compliance management for the APAC region.
- Manage a legal shared services team and oversee regional legal budgets.
- Lead negotiations for high-value revenue contracts, specifically focusing on SaaS and technology arrangements.
- Protect corporate interests regarding intellectual property, privacy compliance, and liability limitations.
- Act as Secretary to the Boards of Directors for various APAC subsidiaries, managing corporate governance and secretarial activities.
- Coordinate with Finance and Operations teams to ensure alignment with revenue recognition rules and business objectives.
- Manage outside counsel for regional legal activities and handle dispute resolution for customer or product issues.
- Lead legal integration efforts for acquired companies and roll out global compliance training initiatives.
- Drive business process improvements and implement productivity tools within the legal organization.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent from an accredited law school in India.
- Minimum of 10+ years of practice experience, including time at a large law firm and as in-house counsel.
- Significant experience in contract negotiation across multiple APAC jurisdictions, particularly for cloud-based agreements.
- Deep understanding of intellectual property concepts and privacy legislation (e.g., GDPR, APPI, PDPA).
- Proven track record in dispute management and resolving litigation or pre-litigation matters.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple time zones, functions, and cultural orientations.
- Strong financial acumen and experience working in a deadline-driven sales environment.
