Details of the Job/Internship

Cars24 is hiring for the position of General Counsel with 15 years of experience to join their office in Gurugram. 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Fundraising & Finance Strategy

• Lead and manage legal aspects of capital raises: private equity, secondary sales, and IPO preparedness.
• Oversee financing transactions including working capital loans (WCDL), term loans, bonds, and NCDs.

2. Risk Management & Operations

• Build scalable, tech-enabled systems for managing operational risks—RC transfers, collections, and high-volume transactions.
• Proactively mitigate legal risk across fast-moving, multi-jurisdictional operations.

3. Litigation & Crisis Management

• Lead all litigation strategy and response.
• Handle crisis situations with clarity, confidence, and calm.

4. Legal Process Automation

• Partner with internal tech teams and external vendors to design and implement tech-driven legal solutions.

5. Business Enablement

• Serve as the final legal and compliance checkpoint for launching new products, platforms, or business lines.
• Develop scalable frameworks that balance innovation with governance.

6. Strategic Transactions & Contracts

• Oversee investments, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
• Manage a high volume of commercial contracts with speed and accuracy.

7. Regulatory & Government Relations

• Lead advocacy efforts with regulators and ministries including RBI, IRDAI, MoRTH, DPIIT, and automotive associations.
• Drive policy innovation to make vehicle ownership more efficient and customer-centric.

Eligibility

• A seasoned legal leader with 15+ years of experience, ideally across tech, fintech, or mobility sectors.
• Proven ability to lead legal strategy across complex, regulated, and high-growth environments.
• Exceptional communicator with a knack for simplifying legal complexities into actionable advice.
• Skilled in managing multi-jurisdictional legal operations and regulatory compliance.
• An inspiring team leader with experience building high-performing legal functions.
• Bonus points for comfort with data and financial modeling—Excel proficiency is a plus!

Salary/Stipend
