Details of the Job/Internship

Trust Wallet is looking for a candidate for the position of General Counsel.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's legal strategy in alignment with business objectives. 
• Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team on a wide range of issues including regulatory compliance, intellectual property, contracts, and litigation. 
• Lead and manage the legal department, including internal and external legal resources. 
• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments related to blockchain and cryptocurrency across multiple jurisdictions. 
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including securities laws, anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC) regulations, and data privacy laws. 
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
• Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters. 
• Ensure the company's corporate governance framework meets best practices and regulatory requirements. 
• Oversee the preparation and management of board meetings, minutes, and resolutions. 
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including partnership agreements, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts. 
• Implement and maintain a robust contract management system. 
• Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. 
• Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes. 
• Provide guidance on risk management policies and procedures. 
• Protect and manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. 
• Advise on IP strategy and enforcement. 
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., product, compliance, finance) to provide legal support and ensure alignment with company goals. 
• Educate and train employees on legal and regulatory matters as needed.

Eligibility

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction. 
• 10+ years of legal experience, with significant experience in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. 
• In-depth knowledge of the ongoing changes in the global regulatory frameworks related to cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and financial services. 
• Good judgment to balance between business growth and managing risks. Proven experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. 
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
• High ethical standards and integrity. 

Salary/Stipend
