Details of the Job/Internship

BBG - BUILDING BLOCKS GROUP is hiring for the position of General Manager - Legal to join their office in Hyderabad. 

Role and Responsibilities

Real Estate & Development

• Land Acquisition
• Manage all legal aspects of land acquisition, including title verification, background checks, and due diligence on land records.
• Assess ownership legitimacy, encumbrances, and potential legal complications.
• Draft, vet, and negotiate agreements related to land purchase and transfer.
• Handle land-related litigation and facilitate dispute resolution processes.
• Legal Due Diligence & Documentation
• Conduct comprehensive legal due diligence for proposed acquisitions and development projects.
• Verify land titles, land use permissions, zoning norms, and encumbrance certificates.
• Ensure legally sound and risk-free land acquisition in coordination with local counsel and technical consultants.
• Prepare and finalize legal documents such as MOUs, AGPAs, DAGPAs, Sale Agreements, Development Agreements, and Conveyance/Lease Deeds.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks through proactive strategy and documentation.
• Contract Management & Drafting
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of real estate contracts, including land acquisition agreements, customer agreements, vendor contracts, MOUs, and Lease Deeds.
• Ensure contractual alignment with overall project goals and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain standardized templates for commonly used legal documents to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
• Ensure adherence to all applicable legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements governing real estate and corporate operations.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, government departments, and external legal advisors.
• Provide legal advice on regulatory frameworks including RERA compliance and state-specific land laws.
• Monitor legal and policy developments relevant to the real estate sector and assess their implications.
• Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management
• Oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters related to land, development projects, and commercial agreements.
• Collaborate with and manage external counsel to represent the company’s legal interests effectively.
• Formulate legal strategies for dispute mitigation and early resolution.
• Leadership & Strategy
• Serve as a key legal advisor to senior management, providing strategic counsel on legal risks and compliance.
• Design and implement robust legal governance frameworks, policies, and internal controls.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment of legal initiatives with organizational objectives.
