Details of the Job/Internship

Ampersand Group is hiring a General Manager Legal with around 10 years of experience to join its office in Mumbai. The role involves managing litigation and non-litigation matters, overseeing dispute resolution, handling contracts and documentation, and providing legal support across business functions, particularly within the education sector.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage litigation and non-litigation matters.
• Handle dispute resolution and litigation management, including interaction with solicitors and advocates.
• Vet pleadings and ensure timely filing before courts, tribunals, fora, and authorities.
• Maintain litigation MIS and manage legal bills.
• Oversee legal activities governing charity commissioning.
• Prepare replies to external communications and resolve day-to-day legal queries.
• Review, finalise, and manage documentation and contracts as per business requirements.
• Conduct legal research on case laws and developments relating to education.
• Liaise with government and non-government authorities.
• Maintain and circulate query resolution trackers.
• Draft and review property, commercial, and legal documents, including deeds, agreements, MOUs, and TOSs.
• Advise on land and property matters and ensure legal compliance of business transactions.
• Guide management on contractual obligations, risks, and consequences of breaches.
• Advise and assist internal stakeholders across corporate offices, zonal offices, centres, and schools on legal matters.
• Keep management updated on legal developments periodically.

Eligibility

• Law Graduate / Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a reputed college or university.
• Around 10 years of experience, preferably in the education industry.
• Blend of court practice and corporate legal experience.

Salary/Stipend
