Details of the Job/Internship
The Ampersand Group is hiring a Legal Counsel with 10 years of experience, preferably combining court practice and corporate legal experience, to manage litigation and non-litigation legal matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Disputes Resolution – Litigation Management:
- Interact regularly with solicitors and advocates to ensure effective implementation of strategies.
- Vet pleadings and ensure timely filing in Courts, Tribunals, Fora, and Authorities.
- Maintain and circulate MIS reports related to litigation.
- Handle legal bills and activities related to charity commissioning.
- Disputes Resolution – Non-Litigation & Day-to-Day Queries:
- Prepare replies to external communications.
- Review, compare, and finalize documentation and contracts as per business requirements.
- Conduct research on case law and developments in the education sector.
- Liaise with Government and Non-Government authorities.
- Maintain and circulate the Query Resolution Tracker regularly.
- Contracts:
- Draft property-related documents such as sale deeds, trust deeds, lease agreements, leave & license agreements, MOUs, TOSs, agreements to sale, and other property documentation.
- Advise on land and property matters.
- Draft commercial and legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Validate business deal documentation for legal compliance and guide management accordingly.
- Monitor compliance of contracts and advise on legal consequences of breaches.
- Provide legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders, sister concerns, corporate offices, and centers/schools.
- Keep management updated on legal developments periodically.
Eligibility
- Law Graduate / Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a reputed college or university.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in the education sector, with a blend of litigation and corporate legal exposure.
