Details of the Job/Internship
The MRG Group is hiring for the position of General Manager - Legal to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage and follow up on court cases and litigation; coordinate with internal departments and external counsel.
- Conduct title due diligence, prepare preliminary title reports, and oversee land-related legal documentation.
- Draft and review legal documents including Agreements to Sell, Sale Deeds, MoUs, Lease Deeds, and Commercial Contracts.
- Collaborate with external law firms to evaluate land records and highlight legal risks with mitigation strategies.
- Oversee regulatory compliance for real estate projects, including RERA and land development laws.
- Maintain and update a legal database of statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Advise management on emerging legal developments affecting the organization’s interests.
- Identify and manage external legal counsels; ensure cost-effective and efficient legal representation.
- Ensure timely and accurate handling of documentation, reporting, and compliance for all projects.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution (LL.M. preferred).
- Proven litigation, documentation, and administrative experience.
- Fluency in Kannada (read and write) is required.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously under pressure.
- Familiarity with RERA, property, contract, and commercial laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal reporting tools.
