Details of the Job/Internship

Vedanta Aluminium is hiring a Head – External Affairs for its Jharsuguda operations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Government & Regulatory Liaison:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulators, and local authorities.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support policy advocacy initiatives.
• Policy Advocacy:
• Track and influence policy developments impacting mining, manufacturing, and energy sectors.
• Represent the company in industry forums and public consultations.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Community Relations:
• Develop stakeholder engagement strategies to support business operations and expansion.
• Lead CSR initiatives and strengthen the company’s social license to operate.
• Corporate Communications & Reputation Management:
• Oversee media relations, press communications, and crisis communication strategies.
• Monitor public sentiment and manage brand reputation.
• Strategic Partnerships:
• Develop partnerships with NGOs, industry associations, and academic institutions.
• Compliance & Crisis Management:
• Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Act as spokesperson during crises and lead crisis response planning.
• Internal Collaboration & Leadership:
• Work closely with legal, operations, HR, and sustainability teams.
• Lead and manage the external affairs team.
• Prepare regulatory and engagement reports for senior leadership.

Eligibility

• Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Communications, or related field.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure sectors preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and government processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and crisis management skills.
