Details of the Job/Internship

Kalinga Commercial Corporation Limited is hiring a Head of Legal with 10–15 years of experience to oversee legal matters across its mining projects in Odisha. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Providing legal advice on mining operations under MMDR Act, Mineral Concession framework, Coal Mines Acts, and related mining regulations.
• Handling land, forest, and environmental compliance under Environment Protection Act, EIA Notification, Forest Conservation Act, Wildlife Act, and allied laws.
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and vetting mining agreements, leases, MoUs, tenders, and mine service contracts.
• Leading labour law compliance under ID Act, CLRA, Factories Act, EPS, ESI, and Labour Codes.
• Managing and monitoring litigation before courts, tribunals, and statutory authorities, including writ proceedings.
• Coordinating and supervising external counsels and senior advocates, including case strategy and cost control.
• Personally appearing before courts and authorities in high-stakes and policy-sensitive matters.
• Identifying legal risks and advising on mitigation strategies and corporate governance under the Companies Act, 2013.

Eligibility

• LLB degree is mandatory; LLM is preferred.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in mining, infrastructure, or mineral-based projects as Legal Head.
• At least 5 years of court experience handling mining, land disputes, and tender matters is preferred.
