Details of the Job/Internship
Pathways World School is hiring for the position fo Head of Legal with 10-15 years of experience to join their office in New Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements across the organization.
- Interpret and communicate legal requirements to internal stakeholders and ensure adherence across functions.
- Provide strategic legal advice to leadership on risk exposure and regulatory implications of business initiatives.
2. Government & Regulatory Affairs
- Serve as the primary liaison with government departments, regulators, and industry bodies.
- Track and engage on evolving laws, policies, and regulations impacting the company.
- Represent the company in regulatory matters and contribute to public policy dialogue, where relevant.
3. Contracts & Litigation
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements ensuring alignment with company policies and legal standards.
- Oversee litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters involving the company.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies related to ongoing and potential disputes.
4. Licenses & Internal Governance
- Act as custodian for company licenses, permits, and registrations, ensuring timely renewals and regulatory filings.
- Periodically review, update, and ensure implementation of internal policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all departments.
5. Company Secretarial Functions (Preferred)
- Support or serve as Company Secretary to the Board, ensuring statutory compliance under the Companies Act and related regulations.
- Maintain statutory records, including board resolutions, shareholder meetings, and governance documentation.
- Liaise with auditors, legal counsel, and regulators on matters of corporate governance and disclosure.
Eligibility
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B. or LL.M.)
- Company Secretary (CS) qualification preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of post-qualification experience in legal, regulatory, and corporate affairs
Salary/Stipend
