Details of the Job/Internship

SGS Motors Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a Head – Legal Department with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on commercial, regulatory, contractual, and operational matters.
• Represent the company and its directors before courts, tribunals, and government authorities.
• Draft, vet, and manage legal notices, contracts, pleadings, and internal documents.
• Oversee litigation across jurisdictions and manage external legal counsel and senior advocates.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws across operational states.
• Conduct due diligence and manage corporate and property documentation.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across business verticals.
• Collaborate with management, finance, and operational teams for legal alignment.
• Travel for legal proceedings, hearings, and external meetings as required.

Eligibility

• LL.B. from a recognised Indian university; enrolled advocate with the Bar Council of India.
• Minimum 7 years of litigation and corporate advisory experience.
• Prior in-house or retainer role handling group-level responsibilities is preferred.
• Strong command over legal drafting, litigation strategy, and compliance management.
• Ability to work independently across jurisdictions and manage legal teams or counsel.
• Proficient in English and Hindi (spoken and written).
• Strong commercial acumen and solution-oriented legal thinking.
