Details of the Job/Internship
FNZ is hiring a Head of Legal, India to provide strategic and operational legal leadership for its India hub based in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior legal leader for all India-based legal activities and operations.
- Provide legal support for business-as-usual operations, including commercial contracts, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to the India Site Lead and senior leadership on legal risk and strategic initiatives.
- Support the establishment of a contract management hub in India, including team design and recruitment support.
- Develop processes and frameworks for efficient contract lifecycle management aligned with global standards.
- Utilise legal technology and AI tools to enhance contract management efficiency.
- Advise on employment and labour law matters, including policies, disputes, and statutory compliance.
- Represent the India Legal team in leadership forums and cross-functional initiatives.
- Support global projects with India execution requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead, coach, and develop India-based legal professionals and contract managers.
- Ensure governance and company secretarial compliance across India entities, including board processes and filings.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with India operations and outsourced service models.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee external legal spend.
Eligibility
- Indian-qualified lawyer with 12+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior legal leadership role.
- Strong expertise in commercial contracting, employment law, governance, and company secretarial matters.
- Experience supporting international organisations headquartered outside India.
- Experience working with outsourced or shared-service centres supporting global operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Exposure to financial services, technology, or regulated environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with legal technology, AI tools, and contract lifecycle management systems is preferred.
