Details of the Job/Internship

LeadSquared is seeking a Head of Legal for their Bengaluru office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing strategic legal advice to support the company's operations and growth. This role involves managing a variety of legal functions, including contract review and negotiation, intellectual property protection, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The Head of Legal will play a key role in shaping and implementing legal strategies to support LeadSquared's business objectives and protect its interests. The position requires strong leadership skills, excellent legal expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

Legal Strategy And Guidance:

Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
Provide proactive legal advice and guidance to the executive team, and business unit heads.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the company's operations and industries.

Legal And Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure the organization's compliance with evolving IT-related laws and industry standards.
Stay updated on evolving data protection regulations and recommend necessary actions to maintain compliance.
Providing time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal inquiries concerning all aspects of your country’s operations.

Empower company's global contract law through standardization, automation and tooling.

Contract Management:

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including client contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements.
Prioritize automation for efficient and streamlined operations surrounding contract negotiation and processes.

Litigation And Dispute Resolution:

Serve as lead counsel on strategic deals, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries
Develop and execute legal strategies to resolve disputes efficiently.

Intellectual Property (IP) Protection:

Protect and manage the organization's IT-related intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Enforce IP rights and defend against infringement claims.

Team Management:

Manage the legal department's budget and allocate resources effectively.
Recruit, train, mentor and manage a team of legal professionals.

Eligibility

Proven leadership experience in IT legal and compliance roles, with 9 - 12 years of relevant legal practice.
A master’s degree or equivalent in law with great academic and law firm credentials.

Confidence making decisions where there’s ambiguity or incomplete information.
The ability to handle significant and complex legal matters with short turnaround times.
