Details of the Job/Internship
Melhor Group is hiring a Head of Legal with 10+ years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years in real estate or construction, to join their office in North Goa.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end land due diligence including title verification, mutation, tenancy checks, conversion approvals and communidade land matters.
- Coordinate with state authorities including Town & Country Planning, PDA, municipal bodies and revenue departments.
- Ensure compliance with Goa-specific statutory requirements including RERA, Land Revenue Code, TCP Act, CRZ and construction-related approvals.
- Draft, negotiate and review construction, EPC, subcontractor and vendor contracts.
- Manage risks relating to project delays, penalties and claims.
- Represent the company in courts, arbitration and legal forums; liaise with external counsel.
- Oversee labour law compliance and coordinate with HR and site teams.
- Conduct legal audits and monitor regulatory changes.
- Lead internal legal resources and provide strategic advisory to management.
Eligibility
- LLB mandatory; LLM preferred.
- 10 years of legal experience with minimum 5 years in construction or real estate in Goa or Western region.
- Experience in statutory approvals, land legalities and arbitration.
- Multilingual ability in English, Hindi and Konkani preferred.
- Frequent travel to project sites within Goa.
