Details of the Job/Internship
Pon Pure Chemicals group is hiring a Head – Legal with a minimum of 15+ years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee drafting and issuance of legal notices, filing of complaints, affidavits, and representation in cheque bounce cases.
- Guide litigation strategy in civil, commercial, and writ matters; supervise court hearings, mediation, execution petitions, and settlement negotiations.
- Approve demand notices under IBC, review NCLT applications, represent or delegate representation as Operational Creditor, and coordinate with IRPs/RPs.
- Approve arbitration notices, represent the company before arbitrators, manage advocate appointments, and negotiate professional fees.
- Manage labour law matters including show cause notices, termination notices, disciplinary inquiries, and recovery proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with statutory labelling requirements and liaise with Legal Metrology authorities.
- Oversee trademark filings, renewals, objections, hearings, and protection of brand assets.
- Draft, vet, and approve key commercial contracts including supplier, distribution, rental, transportation, NDAs, job work, and loan licensing agreements.
- Approve verification of property documents, review MoUs and sale deeds, and manage registration procedures.
- Lead liaison with government authorities and regulatory agencies.
- Provide legal updates, litigation reports, risk assessments, and support compliance audits.
- Advise senior management on legal risks, regulatory developments, and business decisions.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law; LL.M preferred.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in corporate legal, litigation, compliance, and contract management.
- Prior leadership experience in a senior legal role is desirable.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently manage litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.
- Excellent drafting skills and strong understanding of business–legal alignment.
