Details of the Job/Internship
Ruby Builders and Promoters is hiring for the position of Head of Legal with 15-20 years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
Legal Strategy & Leadership
- Define and implement the company’s legal strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Lead and mentor the in-house legal team; coordinate with external counsel as needed.
- Provide legal leadership across all business functions, fostering a proactive legal risk management culture.
Real Estate & Documentation
- Draft, review, and finalize documents related to land acquisition, joint development, collaboration, sale and lease agreements, MoUs, and more.
- Conduct thorough title due diligence, property verification, and encumbrance checks for land and property acquisitions.
Litigation Management
- Oversee all legal disputes including civil, criminal, consumer, arbitration, and RERA matters.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and represent the company before courts, tribunals, and government authorities.
- Track litigation progress and ensure timely resolution of legal proceedings.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to laws and regulations including RERA, municipal and land development laws, building bye-laws, and stamp duty regulations.
- Manage interactions with statutory and regulatory bodies, including registration offices and local authorities.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Negotiate and finalize legal agreements with vendors, contractors, and consultants.
- Standardize templates for various contracts to streamline processes and minimize legal risk.
Legal Advisory & Risk Mitigation
- Advise senior management on the legal implications of strategic decisions.
- Identify legal risks and propose practical mitigation strategies to protect business interests.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); LLM or relevant certifications preferred.
- 15 to 20 years of progressive legal experience, with a strong focus on real estate and construction.
- Proven track record in managing real estate documentation, regulatory compliance, and litigation.
- Strong knowledge of RERA, land acquisition laws, property law, and real estate taxation.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Salary/Stipend
