Details of the Job/Internship
WeRize is hiring a Head of Legal – Collections with 10+ years of experience to lead their legal recovery and litigation function at their Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement legal strategies for loan recovery.
- Draft and vet demand notices, legal notices, and settlement agreements.
- Handle litigation under Section 138 NI Act, arbitration, civil, and criminal suits.
- Oversee external counsels and collection vendors.
- Drive legal enforcement actions for NPAs.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with RBI and NBFC laws.
- Standardize legal documents and audit ongoing cases.
- Collaborate with collections, risk, and business teams.
- Represent the company before legal and regulatory authorities.
- Lead and manage a national legal recovery team.
- Train internal teams on legal recovery processes.
Eligibility
- LLB/LLM from a reputed law school.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in BFSI/FinTech/NBFCs.
- Strong background in legal collections and litigation.
- Proven leadership in managing distributed legal teams and vendors.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
