About HILSR, Jamia Hamdard
Established in 2018 under Jamia Hamdard, the Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies and Research (HILSR) is a distinguished institution dedicated to legal education. Approved by the Bar Council of India, HILSR provides a comprehensive range of programs, including a five-year Integrated B.A.LL.B., an LLM with specializations in Constitutional Law and Commercial Law, and a Ph.D. program in Law.
Committed to cultivating exceptional legal professionals, HILSR prepares students for diverse roles in the Bar, Bench, and legal academia. The department emphasizes a well-rounded educational experience, regularly hosting distinguished judges and lawyers to share practical insights into the legal system. This blend of theoretical knowledge and real-world exposure equips students to navigate the complexities of the legal field. With its holistic approach and dedication to excellence, HILSR has quickly become a premier institution for legal studies in the national capital, significantly contributing to the development of competent legal professionals.
About ADR Board
The commitment to Alternative Dispute Resolution on the HILSR Campus gave birth to the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. The HILSR ADR Board was constituted as an extended arm of the Academic committee to promote interest in ADR methods given its current relevance to the legal profession. The Board was established in 2022 as an initiative to develop a culture of ADR in HILSR that enables skill development and helps us compete at the national and international levels. The Board wishes to bring a positive change in the view of society regarding disputes/disagreements not as something negative but as an opportunity. The Board was inaugurated by eminent legal personalities including Hon'ble Mr. Justice M.L. Mehta, Former judge, the High Court of Delhi & Chairman of Delhi Dispute Redressal Society (DDRS), and Mr. Tariq Khan, Esteemed Registrar of the International Arbitration & Mediation Centre (IAMC) and Ms. Iram Majid, the Executive Director of Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation (APCAM).
Details of the Conference/Seminar
The International Conference on Emerging Trends in International Arbitration promises to be a comprehensive exploration of the evolving landscape of dispute resolution on a global scale. The conference will commence with an insightful introduction, setting the stage for an in-depth discussion of the key themes shaping the field. The first session will delve into the technological advancements influencing international arbitration, including the rise of technology and the integration of blockchain and smart contracts. Following this, the conference will shift focus to the imperative of diversity and inclusion within the arbitration sphere. The agenda will then pivot to the intersection of arbitration and technology, shedding light on the field's role in addressing international concerns. A dedicated session will explore the changing dynamics of dispute funding, with a specific focus on third-party funding and its impact on investor-state disputes. Procedural innovations and efficiency will take center stage in the subsequent session, discussing emergency arbitrators, expedited procedures, and the customization of arbitration clauses.

Call for Papers
- ADRB invites submissions from domestic as well as international participants for the purpose of the paper presentation.
- Co-authorship of a maximum of two people is allowed.
- The manuscripts shall be written in English language only.
- Papers submitted on or before the deadline will only be considered.
- The decision of the selection committee on the acceptance and rejection of the research paper shall be final.
- ADRB reserves the right to disqualify a participant or not to give the award.
- The decision of the Organizing Committee will be final in case of a dispute.
- The top 5 selected papers will be published in reputed journals, including UGC Care.
- They shall also be providing a Certificate of Merit to the best 3 (three) papers along with mementos and certificate/e- certificate will be provided to every participant.
Submission Guidelines
Authors are hereby requested to comply with the following procedure:
- All abstracts and final manuscripts shall be submitted in MS Word format (DOC or DOCX). The file of the abstract/final manuscript shall be saved using this format: “iac2025abstract-your First Name Your Last Name.docx” (for example, iac2025abstract abcd.docx)/(iac2025finalmanuscript-abc.docx).
The submission should be accompanied by a covering email which includes the following details:
- Name of the Author / Authors
- Contact Details
- Designation, and Year of Study (if Authors are Students)
- Name of the Institution/Institutional Affiliation
- Once the acceptance of the abstract has been intimated, the payment details will be sent to you before the submission of the final paper.
- Participants whose abstracts get selected have to present their papers on the day of the conference (22nd February 2024) the presentation should not exceed 10 minutes.
- It is mandatory for the Indian participants to present their papers in offline mode. International participants will be allowed to present their papers in online mode.
Formatting Guidelines
- The word range for the final manuscript, exclusive of the abstract and footnotes, is
- between 2000 to 3000 words.
- ADRB encourages analytical and well-researched manuscripts with logical and practical
- solutions to the issues highlighted.
- The mode of citation to be adhered to is the 20th Harvard Bluebook. Any form of
- plagiarism of more than 10% will lead to automatic disqualification as a participant.
- AI-based content is also discouraged.

- Font: Times New Roman Font size
- Titles: 14; Subtitles: 12
- Body of the Submission: Times New Roman, Font Size 12, 1.5 Line Spacing,
- Justified Alignment and 1-inch margins on each side.
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, Font Size 10; Line - 1 and justified alignment
