Details of the Job/Internship

Chandhiok & Mahajan is hiring a Managing Associate / Counsel with 8–12 years of experience in corporate practice from well-reputed law firms to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage corporate and M&A transactions independently.
• Provide strategic advisory on corporate, regulatory, and compliance laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex transactional documents.
• Manage client relationships and assignments independently.
• Guide and mentor team members at all levels.
• Contribute to firm management and leadership.

Eligibility

• PQE: 8–12 years in corporate practice.
• Experience handling corporate transactions including M&A, private equity investments, VC funding, joint ventures, corporate commercial transactions, strategic corporate transactions, HNI investments, and fund investments across industries.
• Expertise in corporate laws including Indian Contracts Act, 1872, Companies Act, 2013, FEMA 1999, Competition Act, 2002, SEBI laws and regulations (including AIF regulations), RBI regulations, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Ability to independently advise on corporate, regulatory, compliance, and sectoral laws.
• Capable of leading assignments end-to-end, including negotiations, with strong commercial acumen and strategic advice.
• Up-to-date knowledge of changes in law and practical aspects of transactional work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage client relationships independently and confidently.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to guide senior and junior members.
• Vision to become a leader and contribute to firm management.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, integrity, and work ethics.
