Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring a Senior Associate/Associate in Indirect Tax Litigation with 1-3 years of experience to join their Delhi office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Prepare submissions, replies to notices, and appeals.
• Assist clients in responding to the department during enquiries, investigations, and audits.
• Draft replies to show cause notices and audit queries.
• Attend hearings with tax officers as required.
• Draft tax appeals for filing before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals), Tribunal, High Court, and Supreme Court.
• Assist seniors in representations before judicial forums.
• Conduct comprehensive research on tax matters.
• Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risks.
• Manage execution for multiple clients and independently handle smaller matters.
• Build rapport with client management.
• Stay updated on firm-wide, competitor, and business trends to add value to client solutions.
• Identify opportunities for existing clients and communicate to seniors.
• Network internally to understand issues impacting clients.
• Contribute to the firm’s knowledge management activities by staying updated on the latest tax and legal developments.

Eligibility

• Law graduate from a reputed law school with a strong academic record.
• 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax, preferably GST, Customs, etc.
• Excellent communication and drafting skills.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented.

Salary/Stipend
