Details of the Job/Internship

Save the Children International is hiring a Humanitarian Advocacy Advisor, UN, with experience in international diplomacy, humanitarian affairs, and child rights to join their global advocacy team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Promote Save the Children’s priorities with UN agencies, permanent missions, and global policy makers.
• Develop and implement advocacy strategies and outreach plans for specific UN processes and initiatives.
• Coordinate and support key advocacy activities, events, and campaigns during major global engagements such as the UNGA.
• Build strong relationships with UN institutions, NGOs, and government representatives.
• Represent Save the Children in high-level UN forums, working groups, and interagency meetings.
• Provide policy advice, conduct legal and political research, and prepare policy briefs and reports.
• Ensure meaningful child participation in UN processes and act as the Child Safeguarding focal point.
• Support compliance with Save the Children’s safeguarding and child protection policies through risk assessments and training.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (international relations, law, political science, or related).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in international diplomacy, humanitarian affairs, or child rights advocacy.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing advocacy and policy strategies.
• Strong understanding of the UN system and multilateral mechanisms.
• Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in French desirable.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 10%.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and child rights principles of Save the Children.

Salary/Stipend
