Details of the Job/Internship
Worldwide Immigration Ltd is hiring an Immigration Paralegal with experience of 1 to 2 years to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
Client Consultation:
- Conduct detailed consultations with clients to understand their immigration needs and eligibility for UK visa categories.
- Provide accurate advice and guidance on UK visa and immigration laws, policies, and requirements.
Case Management:
- Handle end-to-end management of visa applications, including preparing, submitting, and monitoring the progress of applications to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).
- Ensure all documents, forms, and information required for applications are collected, completed, and submitted accurately and on time.
- Monitor and track deadlines, keeping clients informed of the status of their applications.
Documentation & Research:
- Research and stay updated on changes to UK immigration laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Prepare legal submissions, cover letters, and appeal documentation for complex immigration cases.
Client Liaison & Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing queries, and concerns, and providing regular updates on their application process.
- Liaise with relevant UKVI offices, legal teams, and third parties involved in the case (such as sponsors or employers) to facilitate a smooth process.
Compliance & Record-Keeping:
- Maintain meticulous records of client files, communications, and case documentation to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
- Adhere to data protection and confidentiality standards in handling sensitive client information.
Appeals & Reviews:
- Assist clients in the event of visa refusals by preparing for administrative reviews, appeals, or judicial reviews.
- Prepare detailed documentation and represent clients, where necessary, before immigration tribunals.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior caseworkers, legal advisors, and other departments to support complex cases.
- Contribute to team meetings, case discussions, and strategy development to improve case outcomes
Eligibility
Educational Background:
- A law degree, international relations, or a relevant field is preferred. Specific certifications in UK immigration law are highly advantageous.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in UK immigration casework or a similar legal field. Experience handling various visa categories (e.g., work, student, family, settlement).
- Familiarity with UKVI procedures, requirements, and case management systems.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of UK immigration law and visa procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency in legal documentation, research, and case management.
- Strong client-facing skills with a commitment to providing a high standard of service.
- Analytical and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client base.
