Details of the Job/Internship
Houzeo is hiring for the position of In House- Attorney to join their office in Thane.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Legal & Tax Research
- Conduct in-depth legal research on U.S. tax, real estate, and corporate laws.
- Analyze case law, legal statutes, and regulatory updates.
- Efficiently review and extract insights from large volumes of legal judgments and rulings.
- Proactively learn and stay updated on evolving tax and compliance frameworks.
2. Contract Review & Risk Assessment
- Draft and review commercial and corporate agreements with a focus on consistency, clarity, and enforceability.
- Identify legal risks and recommend revisions to minimize liabilities.
- Maintain version control of all contracts and track changes effectively.
- Ensure all agreements comply with contract law principles.
3. Legal Drafting & Advisory
- Draft internal documents, including employment contracts, company policies, and compliance templates.
- Prepare well-structured responses to regulatory bodies, MLS authorities, and other external stakeholders using AI-enhanced legal tools.
- Offer legal insights and support internal decision-making across departments.
4. Compliance Management
- Implement compliance protocols, checklists, and audit documentation across the organization.
- Track and manage compliance tasks using project management tools.
- Maintain consistent communication with MLS authorities and ensure full adherence to all regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate compliance-related meetings and reports across teams with flexibility.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to align legal strategies with business goals.
- Provide compliance training and legal guidance to internal teams.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration by maintaining clear and effective communication channels.
Eligibility
- LL.B. degree from a reputed law school (active U.S. or Indian Bar membership is a plus).
- Strong academic record; recent graduates with relevant internships are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent drafting, analytical thinking, and risk assessment skills.
- Solid understanding of contract law and real estate compliance frameworks.
- Technologically adept, especially in legal documentation and workflow tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Prior internship or work experience in a corporate legal environment is preferred.
- A proactive, self-motivated, and adaptive approach to problem-solving.
Salary/Stipend
