Details of the Job/Internship
AP International is hiring an In-House IP Counsel / Consultant with 2–4 years of experience to join their legal team in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate various entertainment-specific agreements, including licensing, assignment, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Advise senior management on complex corporate, IP, and regulatory compliance matters relevant to the film industry.
- Oversee legal compliance across all domestic and international business operations.
- Manage the lifecycle of IP-related documentation, ensuring records are accurate and legally sound.
- Assist in both litigation and non-litigation strategies for protecting media copyrights and trademarks.
- Coordinate with internal departments to streamline the legal aspects of content acquisition and distribution.
- Monitor industry-specific legal trends and legislative changes that may impact the film business.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
- 2–4 years of experience in Corporate Law and Intellectual Property Law.
- Proven exposure to handling both litigation and non-litigation matters.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting and reviewing licensing and assignment agreements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High standards of professional ethics and a keen attention to detail.
- Preference: Immediate joiners or candidates with a notice period of up to 30 days.
