Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan is hiring an Associate with 6 months to 2 years of post-qualification experience to join their office in Hyderabad or Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Handle regular advisory and litigation engagements pertaining to Customs, Foreign Trade Policy, and Special Economic Zones.
• Brief and assist seniors in appearances before Tax Officers, Tribunals, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.
• Draft legal documents including legal opinions, replies to notices, and tax appeals.
• Proactively identify and discuss technical tax issues with clients while managing firm risk.
• Execute work across a multiple client base, assuming independent responsibility for smaller accounts.
• Develop rapport with middle-layer client management and identify new business opportunities.
• Contribute to firm initiatives such as case law digests, article writing, and conference assistance.

Eligibility

• Law Graduate from a recognized Law School with a strong academic track record.
• 6 months to 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in Indirect Tax or Customs.
• Prior experience in Customs, Foreign Trade Policy, or Special Economic Zones is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the latest developments in tax and related commercial laws.
• Ability to demonstrate commercial acumen and stay updated on general business trends.
• Excellent networking skills for internal collaboration and client relationship building.
