Details of the Job/Internship

Jindal Steel & Power is hiring an Indirect Tax Litigation- Legal with 5-10 years of experience to join them in Delhi office. 

Role and Responsibilities

Advisory Services: 

• Provide advice & guidance on indirect tax matters, including structuring of transactions, and tax planning.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of complex tax issues to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and optimize tax efficiency.
• Assist in identifying potential tax risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.

Litigation Support: 

• Represent & assist law firms, advocates, senior advocates etc. in indirect tax disputes before tax authorities, appellate tribunals, and courts at various levels.
• Prepare appeals, petitions, and other legal documents.
• Keep abreast of developments, changes in tax laws, and judicial precedents having implications on business operations.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Law with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in indirect taxation, with a focus on both litigation and advisory aspects.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian indirect tax laws, particularly GST, customs duty, excise duty, and service tax. Added knowledge of Direct taxation would be considered a plus.
• Proven track record of handling indirect tax disputes and litigation proceedings, including representation before tax authorities and appellate forums.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
