Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate – Indirect Tax with 0–2 years of experience to join their Kolkata office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handle tax matters including preparation of submissions, replies to notices, and appeals.
• Represent clients before tax authorities along with seniors.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of legal provisions.
• Draft legal advice, opinions, and compliance reports.
• Prepare presentations for client meetings, trainings, and seminars.
• Analyze client data to assess tax impact on business transactions.
• Develop tax-efficient business scenarios and models.
• Contribute through articles, monographs, and knowledge resources.
• Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while managing firm risks.
• Manage multiple clients and independently handle smaller assignments.
• Build client relationships and maintain rapport with management levels.
• Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and competitor activities.
• Identify new business opportunities and communicate with managers.
• Maintain legal databases and participate in internal knowledge sessions.
• Mentor and guide junior associates.

Eligibility

• CA or Lawyer with a strong academic background.
• 0–2 years of experience in indirect tax, GST, or Customs.
