Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan Attorneys is hiring Associates and Senior Associates for Indirect Tax Litigation to join its Mumbai office. The role involves handling GST and Customs litigation, assisting clients during investigations and audits, preparing responses to statutory notices, and representing clients before tax authorities and appellate forums.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assisting clients during searches, investigations, and audits.
• Preparing replies to show cause notices.
• Appearing before tax officers and coordinating meetings with authorities.
• Drafting and filing tax appeals before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals) and Tribunals.
• Preparing submissions, replies to notices, and handling appeals with senior team members.
• Managing multiple client matters and independently handling smaller clients.
• Developing rapport with mid-level client management.
• Identifying technical and commercial issues and discussing them proactively with clients.
• Staying updated on firm-wide activities, competitor developments, and business trends.
• Identifying new opportunities for existing clients and communicating them to seniors.
• Networking internally to understand issues impacting clients.
• Mentoring Associates and guiding them in their work.
• Staying updated with developments in tax and related laws.
• Contributing to the firm’s knowledge management initiatives.

Eligibility

• CA or Lawyer, or CA with Law qualification, with a strong academic background.
• Post-qualification experience of 1–5 years in indirect tax, GST, and Customs.

Salary/Stipend
