Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring Associate and Senior Associate professionals for Indirect Tax Litigation with 1–5 years of experience to join its Mumbai office. The role involves handling GST and Customs litigation matters, client representation before tax authorities, and assisting in investigations, audits, and appellate proceedings.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist clients during search, investigation, and audit proceedings.
• Prepare submissions, replies to notices, and replies to show cause notices.
• Prepare and file appeals before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals) and Tribunal.
• Represent clients before tax authorities and support seniors during appellate proceedings.
• Handle multiple clients and assume near-independent responsibility for smaller matters.
• Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk.
• Develop rapport with mid-level client management.
• Stay updated on developments in tax laws and business trends.
• Contribute to knowledge management initiatives of the firm.
• Mentor associates and guide them in their work.

Eligibility

• CA / Lawyer / CA + Lawyer with a strong academic background.
• 1–5 years of experience in indirect tax, including GST and Customs.
• Experience in assisting clients during search, investigation, and audits.
• Experience in preparing replies to show cause notices.
• Experience in appearances before tax officers and preparing appeals before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals) and Tribunal.

Salary/Stipend
