Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan attorneys is hiring an Associate / Senior Associate – Indirect Tax Litigation with 1–5 years of experience for their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist clients during searches, investigations, and audits.
- Prepare replies to show-cause notices.
- Meet tax officers for representations and appearances.
- Prepare tax appeals before Joint Commissioner (Appeals), Tribunal, etc.
- Identify and discuss technical tax issues with clients while managing firm risk.
- Work on multiple client assignments and independently handle smaller clients.
- Maintain rapport with mid-level client management.
- Stay updated on business trends to add value to client engagements.
- Identify new opportunities within existing client accounts and escalate to seniors.
- Network internally to understand issues affecting clients.
- Mentor Associates and provide guidance on work.
- Maintain updated knowledge of tax laws and contribute to knowledge management.
Eligibility
- CA / Lawyer / CA + Lawyer with a strong academic background.
- 1–5 years of experience in indirect tax, GST, or customs.
- Mandatory experience in assisting with searches, investigations, and audits.
- Mandatory experience in preparing replies to show-cause notices.
- Mandatory experience in appearances before tax authorities.
- Mandatory experience preparing tax appeals before appellate authorities.
