Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring a Senior Associate – Indirect Tax Litigation with 2–4 years of experience to join their Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist clients during searches, investigations, and audits.
- Prepare replies to show cause notices.
- Represent clients and attend meetings with tax officers.
- Draft and file tax appeals before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals) and Tribunal.
- Prepare submissions, replies to notices, and appeal documentation.
- Handle multiple client engagements and assume independent responsibility for smaller clients.
- Develop strong working relationships with mid-level client stakeholders.
- Identify and discuss technical tax issues with clients while managing firm risk considerations.
- Stay informed about firm-wide initiatives, competitor activities, and business trends.
- Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate them to senior team members.
- Network internally to understand issues impacting clients.
- Mentor and guide Associates in their work.
- Stay updated on developments in tax and allied laws.
- Contribute to the firm’s knowledge management initiatives.
Eligibility
- CA, Lawyer, or CA + Lawyer with a strong academic background.
- 2–4 years of experience in indirect tax, GST, or Customs.
- Hands-on experience in investigations, audits, and search proceedings.
- Experience in drafting replies to show cause notices and tax appeals.
- Ability to appear before tax authorities and appellate forums.
