Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring an Associate – Indirect Tax Litigation with 1–3 years of experience to join their Prayagraj office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist clients during search, investigation, and audit proceedings.
- Prepare replies to show cause notices.
- Appear and interact with tax officers and authorities.
- Draft and file tax appeals before the Joint Commissioner (Appeals), Tribunal, and Courts.
- Assist seniors in hearings before departmental authorities and courts in medium and heavy matters.
- Handle preparation of submissions, notices, and appeals for multiple clients.
- Assume near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
- Develop strong working relationships with client management teams.
- Identify technical issues proactively while being mindful of firm risk.
- Stay updated on firm activities, competitor developments, and business trends.
- Identify opportunities for existing clients and communicate them to seniors.
- Mentor and guide junior associates.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background.
- 1–3 years of experience in indirect tax, GST, or Customs.
- Experience in litigation support, drafting, and representation before authorities is required.
