Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan attorneys is hiring an Associate – Indirect Tax Litigation with 1–3 years of experience in GST, customs, and indirect tax matters for its Prayagraj office. The role involves assisting clients during investigations and audits, drafting replies and appeals, appearing before tax authorities, and supporting seniors in hearings for complex matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist clients during searches, investigations, and audits.
- Draft replies to show cause notices and prepare tax appeals for JC (Appeals), Tribunals, and Courts.
- Appear before tax officers and support seniors during departmental/court hearings.
- Handle preparation of submissions, replies, and representation before authorities.
- Manage execution for multiple clients and assume independent responsibility for smaller matters.
- Develop rapport with client management teams.
- Stay updated on tax law developments and contribute to firm’s knowledge base.
- Identify opportunities with existing clients and support senior teams in business development.
- Mentor junior associates where required.
Eligibility
- Law graduate with strong academic background.
- 1–3 years of experience in indirect tax, GST, and customs litigation.
- Prior experience in drafting replies, handling audits, appeals, and court matters required.
- Strong research, drafting, and communication skills.
