Details of the Job/Internship

Khaitan & Co. is hiring an Intellectual Property Associate with experience of 2 to 5 years to join their office in New Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on various intellectual property matters.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing patent applications, trademark registrations, and copyright filings.
• Support attorneys in intellectual property litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Assist in negotiating and drafting IP licensing agreements and other commercial contracts.
• Participate in IP due diligence reviews for corporate transactions.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and databases.
• Monitor and track IP deadlines, including filing deadlines and renewal dates.
• Stay informed about developments in IP law and industry trends.
• Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to provide comprehensive legal support to clients.
• Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Eligibility

• Qualified LLB or LLM from a premier law school in India / abroad (qualified to work in India)
• 2 - 5 years of demonstrated success across IP Laws.
• A stickler for timelines of assignments and a multi-tasker able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Solution-oriented approach with proven ability to close transactions independently with minimal supervision.
• Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal - with a proven ability to communicate to all "clients" (internal and external).
• Solid understanding of a wide range of legal subjects, ability to build on this knowledge, spot issues and bring in specialists as needed.
• Drive for technical superiority by staying abreast of developments in Law and be the go-to subject matter expert.
