Details of the Job/Internship

Cineverse is hiring an Intellectual Property Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join their team in the Greater Kolkata Area.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate content acquisition and distribution agreements across territories, including licensing for films, series, documentaries, and podcasts.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on transactions and risk management.
• Support deal flow, contract execution, and legal compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams across acquisitions, content, finance, and compliance.
• Advise on intellectual property rights and legal aspects of content licensing.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations globally.
• Communicate daily via email and chat with the Chief Legal Officer in the USA and other stakeholders.
• Participate in regular calls with internal and external teams during US working hours.

Eligibility

• LLB or equivalent legal degree with experience in entertainment law or music licensing.
• 5+ years of experience in intellectual property rights, content licensing, trademark, and brand licensing.
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and EU Data Protection.
