Details of the Job/Internship
The Lubrizol Corporation is hiring an Intellectual Property Counsel with 5+ years of experience to join their office in Pune.
Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the US, India, and PCT.
- Conduct freedom-to-practice studies and prepare analyses and opinions.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage IP agreements including NDAs, JDAs, university and consultant agreements, trademark agreements, and licenses.
- Participate in IP-related due diligence for M&A.
- Provide guidance on IP risks, strategies, and competitive landscape analyses.
- Deliver IP compliance training.
- Manage Lubrizol’s patent portfolio in India and internationally.
- Coordinate with US-based and foreign IP attorneys.
- Support Technology, Business, and Legal teams as required.
Eligibility
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Undergraduate/graduate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IP law in chemical/life sciences (law firm experience preferred).
- Registered to practice before CGPDTM.
- Member in good standing with the Bar Council of India.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear legal advice.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and travel up to 15%.
