Details of the Job/Internship

Eaton is hiring a Counsel, Intellectual Property with 7–10 years of experience to join their office in Pune.

Role and Responsibilities

• Advise Eaton’s leadership on intellectual property and compliance strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Develop and implement processes, policies, and controls to safeguard IP assets and ensure compliance globally.
• Lead cross-functional, global teams in IP and compliance operations.
• Manage patent portfolio, IP prosecution, licensing, and enforcement.
• Oversee data analytics and reporting for IP and compliance programs.
• Produce dashboards and metrics for senior leadership to track IP and compliance performance.
• Coordinate with legal counsel and ensure consistent execution across global teams.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced law degree (LL.B. / Juris Doctor) with IP focus strongly preferred.
• Registered Patent Attorney in good standing.
• Technical degree in science or engineering preferred; Master’s in IP Law or MBA is a plus.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in IP law and corporate compliance.
• Strong experience in managing patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights.
• Knowledge of international IP systems (USPTO, EPO, India, PCT).
• Experience with compliance programs, anti-corruption due diligence, and audits.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
