Details of the Job/Internship

Legal Experts AI is hiring an Intellectual Property Lawyer with 1–5+ years of experience to join roles based in Delhi. The position focuses on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, with opportunities across prosecution, licensing, litigation, brand protection, and portfolio strategy in various industries.

Role and Responsibilities

• Advise clients on IP strategy, portfolio development, clearance, and risk management across patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent and trademark applications, and manage related proceedings such as office actions, oppositions, and cancellations.
• Negotiate and draft IP-related agreements, including licensing, technology transfer, SaaS, development, confidentiality, and assignment contracts.
• Handle IP disputes, including infringement analysis, cease-and-desist letters, takedown requests, and support litigation and enforcement actions.
• Conduct IP due diligence for transactions, including M&A and venture financing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IP protection with product and business strategies.
• Monitor legal developments and provide guidance, training, and policies on IP protection and information security.

Eligibility

• J.D. or LL.B. from an accredited law school with a focus on intellectual property law.
• Admission to at least one state bar or relevant jurisdiction; USPTO registration preferred for patent roles.
• 1–5+ years of experience in intellectual property law at a law firm, IP boutique, or in-house legal department.
• Strong knowledge of patent, trademark, and copyright laws, case law, and international treaties.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
