The Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) is an independent Dutch non-profit organisation, that provides expertise to developing and transition countries engaged in legal and judicial reform. CILC was founded in the belief that a functioning, reliable legal system is a critical precondition for the political, economic and social well-being of a country’s population.
Details of the Job/Internship
The Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) is looking for a motivated intern to join their team in The Hague.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparing and updating project documentation (staff contracts, terms of reference, timesheets, agendas, etc.).
- Supporting financial administration tasks such as tracking project expenses and preparing financial overviews.
- Assisting with travel arrangements (booking flights, accommodation, transport).
- Conducting desk research on thematic areas relevant to CILC projects, including but not limited to organized crime, migrant smuggling, trafficking of human beings, transnational criminal law, etc.
- Preparing background notes, briefings, or summaries to support project implementation and development of new project ideas.
- Supporting monitoring and reporting on project results.
- Providing administrative and organizational support to the project team.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date digital records of project files
- Managing the project page in AFAS (CILC’s digital project management tool) by uploading and organizing documents, contracts, reports, and other materials
- Organizing and maintaining the project’s physical filing system.
- Assisting in internal and external communication with stakeholders.
- Supporting other tasks as required by the project officer or senior project manager.
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a relevant university program (preferably European law, International Criminal Law, International Relations, security studies, law enforcement, intelligence gathering or another related field).
- Strong interest in international cooperation and development, justice and security sector reforms, transnational organised crime,.
- Good organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal (knowledge of Dutch or other languages is an asset).
- Strong cultural sensitivity and communication skills.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
Salary/Stipend
The intern will receive a stipend of 600 euros per month (based on 38-hour working week).
