Details of the Job/Internship
Lit Law is looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Researcher Intern to join them at their office in Gurugram. The Duration of the Internship will be of 3 to 6 months.
Role and Responsibilities
Legal Corpus Building
- Help source and catalogue judgments, statutes, and regulations
Annotation & QA
- Tag legal documents with issues, holdings, citations; review peer work for consistency.
Benchmark Design
- Draft legal scenarios and answer keys to evaluate model performance in contracts, compliance, and litigation.
Model Testing
- Run prompt-based evaluations, identify inaccuracies, and propose refinements.
Insights & Research Notes
- Co-author internal briefs or dashboards on trends, outliers, and evolving jurisprudence.
Privacy & Ethics Checks
- Ensure compliance with DPDP norms and redact sensitive information from legal corpora.
Eligibility
- 3rd-5th Year BA/BBA LL.B. /LL.M. student or Ph.D in a common-law jurisdiction with a strong academic record.
- Demonstrated interest in legal innovation, AI, or data-driven research (e.g., moots, blogs, publications).
- Strong writing and research skills, with attention to legal structure and citation discipline.
- Availability of 30–40 hours per week for at least 12 weeks.
