Details of the Job/Internship

The Social Talks is looking for a passionate and driven Legal Intern to support them in drafting and implementing critical legal policies for their platform. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Policy Creation and Drafting
• Develop and refine policies tailored to The Social Talks, such as:
• Privacy Policy
• Terms and Conditions
• Content Moderation Guidelines
• Community Guidelines for contributors and readers
• Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy
• Research and Compliance
• Conduct in-depth legal research on global laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable media and data privacy laws.
• Identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with content publication, user-generated content, and copyright.
• Intellectual Property Management
• Establish frameworks to address copyright issues and ensure compliance with fair use policies for multimedia content.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with editors, content creators, and the legal team to create user-friendly and legally sound policies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure policies are aligned with company goals and industry standards.
• Document Review and Updates
• Assist in updating existing legal documentation to reflect evolving laws, regulations, and business operations.

Eligibility

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law with a focus on Media Law, Technology Law, or Intellectual Property.
• Strong understanding of content-related legal frameworks, including copyright, data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), and content liability regulations.
• Exceptional legal writing skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear and accessible language.
• Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with digital media platforms and global media laws is a plus.
