The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) is an independent intergovernmental Organisation with its seat in the Villa Aldobrandini in Rome. Its purpose is to study the needs and methods for modernising, harmonising, and co-ordinating private and, in particular, commercial law between States and groups of States and to formulate uniform law instruments, principles, and rules to achieve those objectives.
Details of the Job/Internship
The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) Scholarship, Internship and Research Programme is currently accepting applications for internships to be undertaken in 2026.
Role and Responsibilities
Interns will work on a variety of matters, including conducting legal research on specific aspects of the assigned subject and the preparation of concept notes, draft documents, reports and translations.
Eligibility
Later year undergraduate and postgraduate law students.
Salary/Stipend
While majority of the internship positions are unpaid, a limited number of stipends (1,000€ per month) may be made available for the top candidates, with preference given to applicants from developing countries.
