The West Bengal State Legal Services Authority (WBSLSA) is the state-level body implementing free legal aid and services for weaker sections, ensuring justice isn’t denied due to economic or other barriers, under India’s Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, organizing Lok Adalats (people’s courts) and providing access to justice for marginalized groups in West Bengal. You can contact them personally, by post, or through the NALSA website (NALSA) portal for services like free legal advice, representation, and dispute resolution via Lok Adalats.

Details of the Job/Internship

The West Bengal State Legal Services Authority conduct the internship across two cycles, the Summer Internship & the Winter Internship during a year.

• The period of Winter Internship is from the month of December to January.
• The period of Summer Internship is from the month of May to June.

Apart from the above-mentioned cycles, the State Legal Services Authority reserves the right to admit interns as and when provisions arise.

Eligibility

• Students of the second and third year of the Bachelor's degree in Law (3-year courses after graduation);
• Students of the fourth and final year of the integrated five-year courses in Law; Students pursuing LL. M course;
• PhD scholars will also be given due consideration for the internship programme, State Legal Services Authority, West Bengal.
• Students who have previously interned with WBSLSA will not be eligible for a second internship.
