Details of the Job/Internship
Ashwathh Legal is hiring an IP Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join its IP Prosecution team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage the complete prosecution lifecycle of trademarks, copyrights, and designs.
- Conduct availability searches, file applications, and handle registrations and renewals.
- Draft responses to examination reports and office actions.
- Prepare notices of opposition, counter-statements, evidence affidavits, and assist in rectification proceedings.
- Appear before the Trade Marks Registry and Copyright Office for hearings.
- Assist the litigation team with legal research and basic drafting when required.
- Maintain deadlines and update client portfolios using internal matter management software.
Eligibility
- LL.B. degree from a recognised law school.
- Minimum 2 years of core experience in IP prosecution, particularly trademarks.
- Strong knowledge of the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and the Copyright Act, 1957.
- Proficiency in legal drafting, research, and use of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
