Details of the Job/Internship
Sartorius is hiring an Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage formal IP procedures throughout the lifecycle of patents, trademarks, and designs.
- Implement Sartorius’ internal IP workflow and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Support application, registration, grant, opposition, and appeal procedures in coordination with internal teams and external law firms.
- Monitor due dates using docketing systems like PatOrg.
- Administer maintenance and renewal fee payments via tools such as PAVIS.
- Process invoices and maintain cost documentation.
- Maintain internal electronic file systems for IP management.
- Support M&A-related integration of new IP portfolios.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal frameworks.
- Liaise with global IP offices including EPO, EUIPO, USPTO, and WIPO.
Eligibility
- Formal training or certification in IP/Patent Paralegal or equivalent experience (Indian equivalents accepted).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant IP administrative experience.
- Experience with legal proceedings before EPO, EUIPO, USPTO, and WIPO.
- Proficient in IP tools such as PatOrg, PAVIS, EPO Online Filing, or ePCT.
- Strong communication, organizational, and compliance-focused skills.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work collaboratively.
