Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan are inviting applications for Associate - Corporate and M&A for their Hyderabad office.

Role and Responsibilities

Key skills required:

Understanding of general corporate laws, including, Companies Act, 2013, Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, Competition Act, 2002, Indian Contracts Act, 1872, Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) laws, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, Industrial and Labour Law(s), Data Protection Laws, Legal Metrology Act, 2010 and substantive laws for dispute resolution mechanisms.
Worked as a team member on large or medium-sized assignments/transactions with a team of associates, worked on joint ventures, M&A, private equity, restructuring, and agreements. Understanding of what needs review in a due diligence exercise, submit reports based on checklists for preparation of a full report within a limited time.
Up-to-date knowledge of current case law on transactions and changing regulations. Able to research and draft first-cut opinions in corporate laws. Ability to draft and mark up +version control of agreements on the above subjects.

Other skills

Able to understand a brief for opinion and provide the research for the same. First cut draft of agreements on the above subjects and experience in contract management, if not a fresher.
Excellent communication skills (moot court or litigation experience useful).
Fast turnaround time and attention to detail.
Analytical ability- able to analyse laws and apply the same for practical use.
Tech savvy, able to use computers efficiently, social media and e-commerce mechanisms.
Excellent research skills can actively participate in Knowledge Management and ability to write articles and papers.
High level of integrity, honesty and commitment to work ethics and conforms to the Firm’s policies.
Ability to prepare for and assist in business development activities.
Commercial acumen (business lawyer).

Eligibility

A five-year law degree from a reputed university with a good academic record.
1-3 years of experience in the corporate practice of a well-reputed law firm(s) or a mix of law firm experience and in-house experience.
