Details of the Job/Internship

ASSOCHAM is hiring a Joint Director / Additional Director – Government Relations with 15–20 years of experience to join its Delhi office. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with senior central and state government officials, industry associations, think tanks, and media.
• Facilitate meetings, roundtables, conferences, and interactions between chamber members and government stakeholders.
• Identify and engage key decision-makers for policy advocacy.
• Track and analyse government policies, legislation, and regulatory developments relevant to industry members.
• Prepare policy briefs, position papers, recommendations, and advocacy submissions for consultations and meetings.
• Pursue acceptance of representations, memorandums, and submissions with ministries and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and communication materials for leadership.
• Maintain databases of key government contacts and policy developments.

Eligibility

• Postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Business Development, Public Relations, Political Science, Law, or a related field.
• 15–20 years of experience in government relations, public relations, or advocacy, preferably with chambers, industry bodies, or consulting organisations.
• Proven experience engaging with ministries, regulators, and government institutions.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, virtual meeting platforms, online research tools, and familiarity with AI and ERP systems.
